What I Think Will Trend this Summer as a Fashion Stylist
As a Fashion Stylist, I am constantly surrounded by clothing, trends, styles, and
shopping. I am a certified shopper; it's literally my job. I am kept in touch with what each
store is selling us and what trends or styles brands want to push on us as I work directly
with them. I also am always thinking three steps ahead, as that's what I am supposed to
do. Here are three things I believe could be the next βITβ thing.
1.) Wooden, beaded necklaces
I think big jewelry in general will become huge this summer. It's great to accessorize a
simple outfit in the heat. It allows us to show off more of a personal style without the
heaviness of layers. I specifically feel that these types of beaded necklaces seen in the
past few YSL shows will become a thing. This also flows nicely within the current boho
aesthetic.
2.) Sheer fabrics
Recently I have been loving sheers. I feel it is a super fun textile style. I'm loving a sheer
printed dress with a cute lace bralette underneath, boots, and a leather jacket on top.
This has been my go-to wardrobe staple for dinner dates, shopping day, happy hour, or
night out. It's great for warm weather because you don't feel trapped in fabric; it's
breathable. I find it hard in summer to spice up my outfits as much as I would in the
Fall/Winter months, so I feel this is a perfect garment for me. I'm able to layer a lace
bralette underneath and pair it with other fun accessories.
3.) Metallics
Not obnoxious in your face metallics, but subtle shimmers. Recently I've been pulling a
lot of metallic pieces for shoots. It adds a new element to looks and makes them feel
modern and cool.
