Day Trip

Last month, I decided to wander the city with no plans, no worries, and no destination. I left my apartment with nothing but my phone, wallet, headphones, and film camera. I put on my funky socks, took a funky pic, and made my way towards the East River. As I walked along the water and reached the end of the path, I turned around and saw the FDR drive was beneath the park I was at. I’ve been to this park a lot and was shocked I never realized it was above the FDR drive this whole time. I turned around and made my way back towards the city. I kept walking until I hit 2nd Ave. I saw the M15 SBS+ bus approach and sprinted towards it. I figured I’d hop on the bus and hop off whenever. I took it all the way downtown to its final stop, hopped on the 1 train, and ended up in the Oculus. I was satisfied with this. I wandered around, observed all the people commuting, and felt content. I had no where to be and went where ever my body took me. It was something I’ve never experienced before. I had a great couple hours wandering around and taking photos with no responsibilities. It was the perfect day trip.
