If you’re into beauty tips and secrets like me, you probably spend a lot of time watching Vogue’s YouTube videos that focus on celebrity skincare and makeup. Recently, Vogue did a video with Saweetie on her energy-boosting skin care routine. I was immediately interested because her skin is absolutely glowing and beautiful. With sensitive skin, I have a hard time finding a perfect moisturizer and a cleanser that does not make me break out. I was using Mario Badescu for years, but wanted to throw that out because of the bad ingredients they have in their products. My skin started becoming dry from the product as well, as the years went on. I noticed in Saweetie’s routine that she used the Tatcha radiant mask for a more intense glow. I started to look into the brand because it wasn’t the first time I saw someone with clear, smooth skin talk about how good Tatcha is.

After reading a lot of reviews and watching videos, I went to try the brand myself. I trusted all of the reviews because I knew that they were genuine since none of them were sponsored, and the videos were thoughtfully put together, showing results as time went on. When I first went on the website, I noticed how pricey it was. Since this was my first time trying, I did not want to pay that much. Surprisingly, Tatcha sells starter ritual sets for each type of skin for $64. Each set comes with everything you need to start, but in a small trial size. If you ask me, it is a good size considering I am going on week 3 and still using my kit.

My personal letter from Tatcha

My personal letter from Tatcha

Tatcha offers kits for sensitive skin, normal to dry skin, normal to oily skin, and dry skin. I ordered the one for sensitive skin and received my ritual kit of their Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil, the Rice Polish, the Essence, the Silk Cream, and the Silk Peony. When you get your kit, they provide a personal letter for you, as well as the suggested usage on the order to use the products and how much of the products to use. To be completely honest, when I first used all 5 products at the same time, my skin started burning a little and turned red (big mistake). I started freaking out and almost didn’t go to school. However, my skin did calm down after 5 minutes. I believe it was because my skin has never had that much product on it, and since I have been using something else for so long, it reacted differently. After that though, I never used all of the products at once ever again.

I was so ready to email the brand about my dramatic horror story with the products until I came to that realization and began calm down. After that day, I’ve only used the Rice Polish and Silk Cream every day and night, and my skin has been glowing so much more than it used to. My face hasn’t gotten dry at all since then; it’s been smooth and stays smooth the whole day. My nose no longer gets flaky and patchy—I am absolutely in love with the outcome. I still use the other products, but not daily. The Cleansing Oil works very well when taking off makeup, and the Silk Peony eye creams work wonders with revealing a youthful eye, as well as popping out color when used as a primer for eyeshadow.

So, why this brand? In my opinion, this brand offers things other skin care brands don’t. A lot of brands do not let you get all of that product for only $64 as a starter set. Usually, you have to spend that much for one item on a product you know nothing about. I love the sets because you see what works and what doesn’t before you spend almost $80 on just one of their products. Also, the fact they have a set for each skin type is another plus. Tatcha started all because of a woman going to Japan and seeing how beautiful their skin was. She suffered from acute dermatitis and learned of Japanese beauty secrets that took a different approach to skincare. Every ingredient is gentle and safe.

So why not try it out? If it works for you, you are free to order the full-sized products, and if not, then you can just shoot them an E-mail and they will kindly handle the problem—also, after your first order, you get percentage off your next purchase and a free Cleansing Oil!
