Can Your Man Be Your Best Accessory?

For everyone out there with a man, we know how hard you work to get the perfect Instagram photo with them. We all want to be told that we are couple goals—and there is no shame in that. But, sometimes we end up becoming the focal point of the picture and we’re not mad about it.

Now, I know the title is a little alarming. When we think of accessories, it’s normally something on our arms, fingers, etc. These could be necklaces, belts, bracelets, rings, purses—you get the idea. But, doesn’t your man work the same as accessories?

Yes, we’re for real. Think about it. When posing for pictures or simply just standing, where does your man keep his arms or hands strapped around?

Let’s check out some iconic photos that feature the boyfriend as an accessory.

Kourtney and Travis

This picture is of Kourtney Kardashian and her fresh new fiancé Travis Barker. As we analyze this photo, you can see that she wears minimal jewelry, but the accessory that stands out the most is her man. He has his hands snaked around her waist, doing the same job a belt would, but it’s much cuter.

Newly engaged Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly (Colson Baker) are another great example. Again, Megan is wearing minimal jewelry and we notice how MGK has his hands on her waist and neck, just like Travis Barker posed with Kourtney Kardashian.  There’s no need for a belt or necklace when you’ve got your man.

jlo and ben

This one is slightly less obvious, but nonetheless iconic. Our favorite couple is back and better than ever. Pictured above, Ben Affleck is certainly Jennifer Lopez’s accessory. The subtle turn of his cheek and hand around the waist allows for JLO to shine in this unbelievable Georges Hobeika gown.

Sometimes men can be the most iconic accessory, but that doesn't mean we should treat them that way. As partners, it is important to know the distinction. All of the men above allow their person to be the focal point of the image, which is very sweet. If it better suits your relationship, try to find ways in your fashion choices that complement one another. For example, color-coordinating looks are always a hit.

Accessories aren’t meant to be hidden, so if your man is yours, make sure that he knows his presence only enhances your look. No good outfit is complete without some shoes or a bag, but your man just might be the perfect addition.
