A Swifties Perfect Day: NYC Edition

If you’re anything like me, you’ve had Red (Taylor’s Version) on repeat since the moment it came out. You’ve also probably watched the “All Too Well” short film about fifteen times— well, maybe that’s just me. All the nostalgia that was brought on by this re-released masterpiece had me wondering: “What would Taylor’s perfect day in NYC be during her Red era?”

Step 1: Get Dressed

In order to have the perfect “Swiftie” day in NYC, you must BECOME Taylor. Not literally (because that’s weird) but, you might as well look the part.

You also can’t forget to add a red scarf. It’s okay if you can’t find your old one, it’s probably still in your exes drawer, even now. There are a ton on websites such as ASOS, Zara, Amazon, and even Taylor’s own merch site. This is definitely a staple for any NYC outing.

Step 2: Makeup

If Taylor is known for anything, it’s definitely her iconic red lip. Swift’s makeup artist Lorrie Turk told Glamour that some of her favorite shades are “Dragon Girl” by Nars, “Ruby Woo” from MAC Cosmetics, and CoverGirl’s “Hot” cream lipstick. If you have the means, I definitely suggest trying out one of her favorites, but any red lip will suffice! “Everything Has Changed” in Taylor’s life since her rise to fame, but her staple red lip remains the same.

step 3: Brunch

Now that you’re ready to take on Taylor’s typical day, I bet you’ve worked up an appetite. Brunch is always the solution. A spot that Swift frequently enjoyed when she lived in NYC is Bubby’s in Tribeca. I’ve been there before and can attest that Taylor has excellent taste. This is the perfect restaurant for some fluffy pancakes. Bubby’s, “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

Step 4: coffee and books

According to Glamour, one of Taylor’s favorite NYC activities is going book shopping. She is an avid fan of McNally Jackson books which have locations in SoHo and The Financial District. The feeling of being in a cozy book shop is truly a “State of Grace.”

You’re also probably going to want a coffee to keep you warm. Now that Swift and Starbucks have partnered up, that is the only viable option! Her favorite drink, a Grande caramel nonfat latte, is now being sold as “Taylor’s Drink” in the iconic red holiday cups. Dunkin, no offense but “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

Step 5: Dinner and dessert

Finally, it’s time for some dinner followed by, of course, dessert. You’re going to want to head down to the Lower East Side to The Fat Radish. This is one of Taylor’s favorite restaurants, and it features modern British cuisine. Next comes the fun part, dessert! Taylor’s favorite spot to get a sweet treat is Levain Bakery. Levain is notorious for its delicious cookies. “Sad Beautiful Tragic” would be the perfect words to describe my obsession with dessert.

Now that you’ve had the perfect “Day in Taylor’s Life” during the Red era, be sure to leave a comment below about your favorite spots of hers. Also, don’t forget to stream Red (Taylor’s Version). The guessing game for which album will be re-released next starts now!
