My Week In Looks: How I Accessorize My Outfits

We all know that accessorizing is the key to creating any good outfit. Whether it’s for work, school, or just going to the grocery store, accessories always matter. I do not always dress up when I go out, but no matter what I wear, I always have to include at least one accessory. Whether that be a simple pair of studs or a single ring, I’ve got an accessory on.

Here is now I accessorized some of my outfits this past week!

Monday

On Monday I was working an 11-5 shift, so I wanted to dress really comfortably, but also cute. I based the outfit off of my J Crew denim maxi skirt which I thrifted for only $11. I paired it with my white basic H&M sweater, a thrifted velour duster, and my black cowboy boots. I also added some thrifted jewelry including these gorgeous amber-toned dangle earrings and my favorite red diamond and black and white rings.

TUESDAY

Tuesday was such a quick day for me! I worked a 10-3 shift and then went and got all of my Thanksgiving groceries. Usually, when I work in the morning I do not dress as nice, but this day I really wanted to dress up. I started off with my thrifted red and black striped Cable & Gauge sweater, black leather Jaclyn Smith jacket (also thrifted), my black H&M dress pants, and Black Cement Jordan 3’s. I added the same rings from Monday’s look, and my cross earrings and necklace set from Depop. I wore my thrifted DKNY black shoulder bag and added some reddish-brown sunglasses from— you guessed it, the thrift store!

Wednesday

I was off on Wednesday, but I always like to play around with stuff I have not worn yet and plan future looks! This one was too good, so I decided to take some pictures for Instagram because why not? I was wearing this gorgeous Ed Hardy shirt from Depop under a basic black fishnet top from Amazon. I decided this would look good with my faux leather H&M pants and black and white platform Converse. I accessorized with my red Nine West bag, the same rings, my cross earrings, and brown sunglasses from Dollar Tree!

THURSDAY

On Thursday I worked a 9-6 shift, so a bummy outfit was definitely in order. However, I decided to pull it together and wear something cute, but still comfy enough to get me through the day. I wore this navy blue poncho from Justice, a pair of Route 66 flared jeans, my Doc Martens, and I also had on a black puffer coat since it was pretty cold outside. To accessorize, I wore my silver pearl orb necklace that I thrifted back in Tennessee, some pearl earrings, and a pair of Y2K sunglasses that were also thrifted.

FRIDAY

Friday was another fun day off for me! I did a little shopping and some homework, as well as doing some work for my internship. I kept it cute and flirty with a thrifted Union Jack top underneath a black fur-trimmed cardigan from H&M. I also added red wide-leg pants from H&M and my Nasty Gal booties. I kept it minimal with the accessories, wearing my silver star earrings that I got off of Depop, and a thrifted black tie.

Finding new ways to accessorize is not always fun, especially when we feel down or just not in the mood, but when we do, it gives us the opportunity to see how far we can take our style. Trying out new colors, lengths, aesthetics, and trends can help us develop into the fashionistas we have always dreamt of becoming! Remember, anything can turn a plain look into something great. Be sure to keep this in mind when asking yourself, “what will I wear this week?”
