Posts On A Scandal: Gossip Girl 1.08 Recap

Hey Upper East Siders,

My favorite holiday is sadly over, but the drama is not. If you thought we left all the gossip at the dinner table, you’re surely wrong.

Julien’s on a tour to make amends, starting with Monet (who is finally back!) A latte may not be good enough to win Monet over, but the chance to be part of a scandal will. However, Zoya doesn’t quite seem ready to forgive JC. I mean, how would you feel if your sister slept with your boyfriend? It doesn’t help that JC’s Dad (Davis, in case you forgot his name) is offering his second apartment to Zoya and her dad. Zoya doesn’t like the idea that she could be bought into forgiveness.

Kate is struggling with the information Lola, who is no longer Davis’s fiancee, gave her. The rest of the teachers are tempted to use the tip, but Kate’s humanity is finally showing. Perhaps she’s the only teacher who will find a way of redemption, but she can’t seem to leave GG behind.

Speaking of Lola, apparently, Davis retracted the engagement to keep it from looking like it was to prevent her from testifying, which we learn what the tip is. Davis has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman many years ago. He tells everyone it’s not true, and Julien believes him. Poor girl, doesn’t she know how few SA cases are false?

Things aren’t going so well for Max either. He’s been kicked out of the throuple and now has to return to his old ways. But he seems to be having some “mechanical issues.” Luna convinces him that it’s because he has now combined emotion with sex. “And once you get a taste of that, nothing else tastes as good,” she tells him. She suggests taking the ballerina, who he’s been trying to hook up with, on a date, but it’s not so easy to make an emotional connection.

Obie seems to have all of his relationships failing. When he hears the news of Julien’s dad, he tries to show up and be there for her. However, Audrey kicks him out, claiming he’s only there “to make himself feel better.” Since he can’t seem to reconcile with her, he moves on to Aki. Aki has been struggling with the voicemail his dad left (which now we know was more in reference to Davis) and he’s dying for more information to help out his friends.

Obie, his mother, Aki, and his father all gather for dinner. Obie had to announce his apology (on live TV, might I add) for the protest he started. Now, his mother is forcing another apology out of him to Aki’s father. When he refuses, Aki joins in as well. He finally stands up to his father, and the two boys seem to find forgiveness in that.

Luna, Monet, and Audrey take Julien to an event to help get her mind off things. Of course, the protestors screaming “cancel Calloway” don’t seem to help, but she puts on a strong face. However, while they’re at the event, Aki forwards over information his father had on her dad. Julien resorts to Zoya to help her find the truth. The two of them sneak into JC’s dad’s office to search for information, but it’s worse than we thought. Not only is the claim true, but Davis did this to multiple women.

It seems as though these scandals are far from over. What will happen to Davis now? What will Max do now that he’s realized he has feelings for Aki and Audrey? Well, the story is far from over. And thankfully, we’ll get another recap tomorrow.

But until then,

Xoxo.
