Must-Have Accessory Trends for Spring and Summer 2021

With spring upon us and the upcoming summer season on the rise, trends have been emerging like crazy, as per usual. Lately, people have been styling these trends on TikTok and Instagram. Meanwhile, fast-fashion stores such as Jaded London and Princess Polly have already put out the trends on the market.

The fashion industry is super busy this season, and the accessories market is just as hectic—in the best way possible. With the 60s’ and 70s’ styles strongly impacting fashion this year, the spring and summer season is flooded with nuanced psychedelic prints, funky colors, and retro sunglasses. Here is a breakdown of all the must-have accessories that will have you set for this spring and summer.

Tinted sunglasses

Tinted sunglasses have been trending for quite a while now. This year, they are making even bigger strides with Hippie-era fashion trends coming back. Retailers like ASOS and Crap Eyewear sell glasses with prices ranging from $14 to $100. Sunglasses are obviously essential for all seasons, but for spring and summer, these tinted sunglasses are a must-have.

silk SCARfs

Silk scarfs are constantly trending especially during the summer seasons. They are super versatile and convenient to dress up or dress down. You can wear them as headscarves, wrap tops, headbands, and so much more. They are so easy to thrift and can also be found at popular stores like Urban Outfitters. Fashion is so much more interesting when it can be experimented with, which is why I love this trend!

mesh/LACE gloves

We will be seeing more mesh gloves this spring and summer. Being both sexy and stylish, gloves are perfect for a spring or summer day out and can be dressed up for a night look. Savage X Fenty has some mesh gloves starting at only $9. Jaded London also has some funky mesh gloves and tops with gloves for $26. If you're looking for ways to enhance your accessory game, this is a trend to try out!

Funky printed pantyhose/tights

This may be a little out of most people's comfort zones, but funky printed and colored pantyhose/tights are a fun and easy way to accessorize. They complement any skirt or pair of shorts and take a look from basic to chic. Whether solid or printed, they can be styled to dress up or down. The Tight Spot has some great options ranging in prices as low as $10. These are far from your average black pantyhose and are a perfect way to up the ante on your funky wardrobe!

claw clips

If you have not seen this trend on Pinterest feed or how to use these on your hair on TikTok, then you have got to get on it. The claw clip trend started in the ’90s and early Y2K and resurfaced last year. These can make your droopy updos look like you tried, with minimal effort. For a more chic look use some gel, slick back your hair, and clip the rest. You can grab a pack of these claw clips anywhere from Amazon to your local beauty stores.

Big funky heels

Arguably one of the most iconic trends of the 60s and 70s, big, funky, chunky heels are coming back and I could not be any happier. Arguably, this is one of the most iconic trends to stem from the 60s and 70s, They automatically elevate an outfit and your height! Naked Wolfe has an abundance of options for this particular trend. These are great for non-heel wearers, like me, because they are so much easier to walk in. Whether worn with some bellbottom pants or a cute dress, these heels are worth trying out for this spring and summer season!

Fashion is ever-changing, so is it fair to take caution when experimenting with new trends. This spring and summer try to step out of the box and be bold with what you choose to wear!
