Autumn/Winter 2021 Accessory Trend Report

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, fall and winter fever has sprung among us yet again and the trends are fresh—fresh off the runway if you will. From chunky jewels to mega platforms that will have us all fulfilling our Bratz doll fantasies, the accessory trends for A/W 2021 are simply too hot to drop. Here’s a full report on what accessories dominated every runway and are taking over this fall and winter season.

THE BIGGER THE BETTER(BAG)

Bag’s are a must-have essential to any wardrobe, all year round. But big, oversized totes you could practically wear? That’s the kind of bag that is going to be everywhere this fall and winter season. From leather to furry, fluffy, and quilted, these bag’s are definitely worth investing in.

PLATFORMS ARE EASIER TO WALK IN

Platform shoes are perfect for the fall for countless reasons. They make any outfit look so much more fashionable, and they give you much more height, which for us shorter girls, is super important! Brands like Moschino and Schiaparelli were bringing all the inches to the runway with their F/W’21 collections!

Make A Statement, And Then another One

I think I can speak for many of us when I say: statement pieces are the key to any tasteful wardrobe. And the statement accessories from the runway were too good not to get into! Belts, jewelry, bags, shoes, and even super cute statement socks should be on everyone’s shopping list for this season.

Sunglasses ARE more USEFUL WHEN THEIR OVERSIZED

Sunglasses are probably one of my favorite accessories, so it was no surprise to see that oversized sunglasses would be on trend for the fall and winter. Not only are they super functional, but they are super stylish. These sunglasses are not going anywhere anytime soon!

Bold colors Because, Why Not?

Neutrals are probably what comes to mind when you think about colors for the fall and winter. This season however, it is looking much more colorful. Now I always say not to give in to trends if you really do not like them, and I know super bright colors are not for everyone, but me personally—I will be drenched in color!

GLOVES ARE NOT JUST A WEATHER THING

Gloves and arm warmers are the easiest way to spice up an outfit. Whether it is for a casual or a formal occasion, gloves are the perfect touch. For this upcoming season, opera gloves, fur gloves, and fingerless gloves are a must-have. You can even make them yourself out of sweaters, tights, and socks!

Cowboy boots are cooler in the fall

Now I am sure we all know that cowboy/cowgirl boots are not going anywhere. While these boots are perfect for the spring and summer season, they are so much more versatile in the fall and winter. You can still wear them with skirts and dresses, but with added layers to warm you up!

CHUNKY JEWELRY IS MUCH MORE APPETIZING

Jewelry is so fun to play with, especially when it’s chunky! Colors, sizes, and lengths are super important. I used to have just one style of earrings in my collection: studs. I now realize how much I was missing out on! This fall and winter season, try experimenting with chunky jewelry, to give your outfits a fresh new perspective.

FLY me to the moon (Boot)

I am seriously dying to add a pair of these moon boots to my collection. They are so different and unique! Designers like Ottolinger and Dolce & Gabbana have participated in the trend, and I cannot wait to see how these boots are styled by celebrities and influencers this season!

FUR-IOUSLY CRAZY ABOUT FUR

I decided to save the best for last! Fur accessories are what I gravitate to the most during the fall and winter, and the runways were full of fur! Now real fur for me, is a no. But, to each their own! Fur hats, bags, gloves, boots, and scarfs are all I am going to be seen in!

Now that you have this go-to list of accessory trends to prepare you, there is no need to look to your favorite influencers for further inspiration. Even if some of these accessories might be out of your comfort zone, don’t be afraid to try something different, even if that means switching out your signature beige coat for a bold red leather one instead! So, what accessory trends will you be wearing this fall and winter season?
