Music To My Ears: The Soundtrack of Euphoria

There are many factors that make a show great, one of them being the music that is included in each episode. HBO’s Euphoria is one example of a great show with great music, and its newest season has already proven to be no different from the first as far as the soundtrack goes.

The first episode of season two, “Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door” premiered on January 9th, and the excitement was definitely there as fans everywhere were trying to stream the episode on HBO Max right when it was released at 9 PM EST. I too was one of those crazed fans who quickly resorted to HBO when my HBO Max app crashed. The first thing I noticed about the show when starting it back in 2020 was the amazing soundtrack. Many of the tunes in season one were composed by Labrinth. When watching the season two premiere, I was absolutely floored with the amount of good music that was played throughout the episode. Then I remembered, Drake serves as an executive producer on the show, so he might have something to do with all of the bangers that we are blessed with!

Some of the songs that were featured in the first episode include 90s hip-hop classics such as Tupac’s “Hit’ Em Up,” DMX’s “Party Up,” and “Hypnotize” by The Notorious B.I.G. The music definitely added to the drama and plot of the show, as well as provided a tone for each character. There were so many incredible tunes that were included in season one, the two special episodes, and the first episode of season two, that I decided to make a playlist with each and every song.

Whether you have watched Euphoria yet or not, you can definitely still vibe to the music and maybe it will convince you to get into the show. I hope you enjoy listening to this playlist and continue embracing your inner Euphoria character.
