Zodiac Playlists: Aquarius

Design by Author

It’s official folks, it’s Aquarius season. This lovely astrological season started on January 19th and ends on February 18th. Aquarius is known as an air sign represented by the water bearer. “Aquarius is undoubtedly the most innovative, progressive, rebellious, and humanitarian,” says astrologer, Aliza Kelly in Allure, “Aquarius can often be found planning a revolution or proudly flaunting their funky fashion sensibility, they also have an often overlooked sensitive side that requires appreciation, support, and love.”

Sun in Aquarius

Aquarius individuals are all about complementing boldness with sensitivity. There are some talented music artists with their sun sign placed in Aquarius and this playlist honors their individualism.

To give you a taste of what’s in store, there are hits by the lovely Harry Styles, Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd), Justin Timberlake, and Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi). Aquarius season would not be the same without our girl bosses like Megan Thee Stallion with “Girls in the Hood,” Shakira with “She Wolf,” and Alicia Keys with “Fallin.” To close out this sun in Aquarius celebration, we give you a ‘90s hip hop legend, Dr.Dre, with “What’s The Difference.”

Vibes for Aquarius Season

Aquarius season is all about embracing your radical energy and what makes you different. For all our lovely Aquarius individuals out there, this season may have you feeling lost; you may find comfort in tradition and rules, but this season is about getting lost to find yourself.

While practicing your “f*** it” attitude, listen to this playlist below and get lost in this mix of a little bit of everything. There is R&B and indie, rap, a few rock sub-genres with hints of electronic, and of course, some pop hits.

We start off with “Funny Thing” by Thunder Cat and “Binz” by Solange to embrace the grooviness of this season. Then we lead into some lo-fi ballads like “Ask me What I Do it 4” by NC based-artist, Lavae Hylton. This playlist also ventures into some electro-rock with “Deceptacon” by Le Tigre. To complete this guide to getting lost, we have a stream of electronic-pop with “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga, “U KNOW ME” by COBRAH, and of course, “212” by Azealia Banks.

Happy Aquarius season everyone! Even if you do not have Aquarius in your chart, practice letting go of tradition and doing what speaks to you. Have fun on this journey, and remember it’s okay to get lost—as long as you have some good music to guide you.
