And Just Like That: Sex And The City is Back Again!

And Just Like That, our favorite New York girls are back! We recently saw Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) navigate through their 50’s, trying to understand the world of Gen Z’ers and Millennials in the first season of And Just Like That. If you have been anywhere in Midtown recently, you may have seen the filming the Sex and the City sequel. The second season of And Just Like That is reported to air summer 2023!

More than two decades after we saw the iconic friend group for the first time, we were blessed with a spinoff of Sex and the City. The first season of And Just Like That came out late 2021 and had very mixed reviews. It seemed as if the writers tried to relate to society’s norms today, to appeal to a younger crowd. Charlotte’s daughter came out as non-binary, Miranda wanted to explore her sexuality, ultimately ending things with Steve (David Eigenberg), and Carrie went on a podcast where she was forced to get with the times. And the biggest plot line of last season, Mr. Big (Chris Noth) died on the Peloton.

In September, SJP posted a teaser of the script for the first episode of this season. Parker also posted an outfit sneak peek which included a JW Anderson pigeon bag, as well as a Fendi ankle bag. It seems as if they are not backing down when it comes to fashion and accessories. With the new plot lines and characters, we cannot wait to see what everyone is wearing.

Rumors have been circulating about who is going to be in the show, including if Samantha, played by Kim Catrall, is going to make a reappearance. Samantha was not in the first season of And Just Like That, due to talk about her and SJP not getting along on set. Samantha is confirmed to not physically be in the show, but Carrie will be texting her like she did all last season. A big surprise is Carrie’s old love interest, Aidan Shaw (John Corbett), who is reported to make a re-appearance in the second season, following Mr. Big’s death. Hopefully Carrie will treat him right this time!
