NYFW 2022: Beauty Round Up

NYFW has come and gone. But, we aren’t ready to let go of it just yet. Of course, the main focus of fashion week is the iconic designs, but the hair and makeup are what really tie the whole look together. Here are some of the hair and makeup trends our beauty team has been seeing on the runway this season.

Sky Blue is the new IT Color

Blue eyeshadow has been spotted all over the runway during this year’s New York Fashion Week. Christian Siriano, Kim Shui, and Proenza Schouler have all included a beautiful shade of sky blue into their shows.

Blue eyeshadow can seem intimidating and too bold for the everyday makeup wearer but it doesn’t have to be. Adding a pop of blue of to the waterline using a coal eyeliner or creating a graphic liner with a liquid liner, similar to Christian Siriano’s can elevate an eye look without being too intimidating.

Minmilistic Red

Micheal Kors took a more simplistic approach. The minimum to no skin makeup is always perfect for a bright red lip to pop.

Naeem Khan created a timeless but sophisticated look. A winged eyeliner and red lip is always a classic look. Khan’s makeup artist Fabiana Graziani wanted a vintage New York vibe to the makeup.

A perfect red lip to recreate these looks is the Ilia Color Block High Impact Lipstick.

Slicked Back Hair

Another huge trend at fashion week has been slicked-back, wet-looking hair. This hairstyle comes and goes quite frequently and can be styled in a plethora of different ways. Whether it’s a slicked back bun or ponytail or shiny wet beach waves, we have seen it all and it keeps recycling.

Hair Accessories:

Hair accessories are back in style—and we couldn’t be more obsessed. Bright-colored headbands and hair clips are all the rage right now and were showcased in many looks this past fashion week. Models were seen at the Alice and Olivia fashion show sporting bright orange hair clips and the messy bun look. At the Tom Ford show, models were seen rocking embellished clips and bobby pins to match the glitz of the collection.

Blown Out Blush:

One of our favorite trends from fashion week is the blown-out blush look. This look is both simple, but also has a gorgeous avant-garde element to it. The monochromatic looks were breathtaking under the runway lights. Christian Cowan incorporated this look into his show. Their lead makeup artist, Lori Taylor Davis, concluded NYFW saying that “blush is back.”

We are so obsessed with all of the beauty trends that stormed the runways this NYFW. From sky blue liner’s to headbands and red lips, it’s safe to say that the beauty trends are going to be iconic this year. We hope you loved this roundup just as much as we loved making it.
