Spring and Summer Beauty Essentials

As the seasons change, so does your beauty routine. Lighter makeup, brighter colors and even your skincare could change as we approach springtime. It is all about the glow this season!

Here are five beauty essentials to add to your routine:

CREAM BLUSH:

As a makeup artist, I have always preferred cream over powder blush especially in the warmer months. Cream blush sits gives a supple and radiant glow to the skin and keeps the skin looking hydrated. Cream blushes give the illusion of a more natural flush whereas powder blushes can tend to look cakey and settle into any texture you may have on your skin. My favorite cream blush at the moment is the Soft Pinch Blush by Rare Beauty. The formula is incredible, extremely pigmented, and blends like a dream.

SPF FACE MIST:

Even though SPF is an important attribute to skincare all year round, it becomes crucial during the spring and summer months as you spend more time outside soaking up the sunshine. SPF face mists are an easy way to reapply your sunscreen throughout the day without ruining your makeup. They are also very refreshing to spritz on your face as the temperature gets warmer. Brands like Supergoop!, Sun Bum and Coola all have great SPF facial sprays for you to try!

A Spring Fragrance:

It is time to ditch the musky warm scents and switch your fragrance to something vibrant and light. I tend to go towards more fruity florals because I feel they pair well with the ambiance of the season. Some of my favorite perfumes for Spring include Chanel Chance Eau Tendre and Kay Ali Eden. If you aren’t looking to drop a chunk of change on an expensive high end fragrance you can find great scents at a lower price point on Dossier’s website as well. My personal favorites for Spring include Fruity Brown Sugar and Floral Marshmallow!

TINTED MOISTURIZER:

I don’t know about you, but I loathe the feeling of heavy foundation on my skin in the warmer months– that is why tinted moisturizers are the way to go! Tinted moisturizers sit so nicely on the skin making you look hydrated all while giving coverage and evening out the skin tone. It is light and feels natural on the face and won’t get cakey in the humidity. The Colourpop Pretty Fresh tinted moisturizer is a go-to. It is formulated with hylaluronic acid to give you a boost of hydration and coconut water to promote skin softness, and at just $14, you can’t beat it!

HYDRATING LIP OILS:

The hype is real when it comes to lip oils. They are hydrating and glossy– giving you a plump, polished and kissable pout. Some oils even have a tint that will pair beautifully with your Spring and Summer makeup routine! There are many lip oils on the market and in recent months, the Dior Lip Glow Oil took center stage. Although I think the Dior Lip Glow Oil is great, there are so many dupes that are just like it or even better at a fraction the cost. Milani Cosmetics Fruit Fetish lip oil comes in a variety of flavors and colors and retails for about $10!
