Lana Del Rey x Interview Magazine for Their March 2023 Issue

American songwriter and singer Lana Del Rey is front and center of Interview Magazine’s March 2023 Issue. The ins and outs of this photoshoot are rooted in fabulous photography, styling, makeup, and music. Fashion photographer Nadia Lee Cohen caught all the action. Managing styling was Mel Ottenberg, hair by Evanie Frausto, makeup by Etienne Ortega, nails were done by Yoko Sakakura, and reports Dscene.  Brittany Porter did the set design creating a 60s nostalgic feel.

Here is a little insight into what the artist was wearing. Lana Del Rey is adorned in a Dior dress on the front cover, reveals Dscene. The stylist prepared the veil, bralette, Swarovski ring, and earrings.

The next photo features Lana Del Rey sitting on top of a car wearing a top, skirt, and veil by Mirror Palais, a Chrome Hearts necklace, and a ring by Bvlgari, according to Dscene.

Interview Magazine gifted us with an actual on-set playlist that was used during the shoot. The playlist was created by David Lopez Osuna, a lighting technician for Interview Magazine. The playlist is on Spotify and is titled “Slipped, Tripped & Fell in Love”

“What song on this playlist, if any, makes you cry?” “Sleepwalk” by Santo & Johnny is a heartbreaker. If you have ever watched La Bamba you would understand,” Osuna says regarding the playlist.

Lana Del Rey’s dreams came true when she was able to interview Billie Eilish to discuss some of her thoughts regarding her newest album which releases on March 24th, 2023. According to Billboard, Lana Del Rey originally wanted her album cover for Did You That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd to be completely nude. However, it did not happen for several reasons.

“My original cover was nude, then I thought about it, and I was like, maybe not right now, because there are some other things I want to do where I feel like that could get in the way,” she tells Eilish. She then goes on to say how she wanted to uncover something she felt was beautiful but got anxious, reveals Billboard.

Neil Krug, the mastermind behind the album cover, decided on a blue-toned black-and-white image of Lana Del Rey, lying on her stomach with ribbons in her hair, and her head in her hand staring into the camera looking morose, reveals Billboard.

Lana Del Rey describes how the process was exciting yet uneasy. “I was feeling open, but then I closed down again and wanted to play it safe,” she tells Billboard. From then on she decided she decided the songs will do the talking.

Throughout the interview, Lana Del Rey expresses the difficulties of fame and dealing with hostility as a young female artist.

“Everyone gets their fair share of think pieces, but there were definitely some 60-page articles about me being the face of feminine submission and pro-domestic whatever,” she says, Billboard.

Lana Del Rey mentions how that was tough for her because she was trying to figure things out, as reported by Billboard. Fans' needs were answered by Interview Magazine's creation. The photoshoot revealed what we had been waiting for, and the interview helped readers and fans understand.
