Our Favorite Collections from Paris Fashion Week 2023

Paris Fashion Week 2023 is finally here! With over 100 brands, 69 shows, and 40 presentations, this season's fashion week in the city of lights showcases breathtaking looks we can't keep our eyes away from.

PFW is taking place from February 27th to March 7th, and here are our favorite designers and their creations so far.

Paco Rabanne Pays Tribute

Paying tribute to the founding designer Paco Rabanne and artist Salvador Dalí, the brand's Creative Director, Julien Dossena, expressed his admiration for them by incorporating metallic colors and prints inspired by Dalí's paintings into the designs.

"This collection is the logical continuity of a process of exploration: an exploration of fabrics, exploration of forms, exploration of confronting textures", Dossena tells W Magazine.

Ester Manas Celebrates Love & Inclusivity

Not only was Ester Mana's A/W collection "For Better or for Worse" the most inclusive runway in Paris this season, but it was also 90% made of deadstock fabric.

The theme for the collection was love, and the designer shared a quote on Instagram saying "Today, the body is not the subject. Because, obviously, at a wedding, everybody is invited."

The intricate runway was filled with classic white bridal designs, as well as bold red gowns. The designer's summer ready-to-wear collection also featured purple textured pieces and accessories.

Alexander McQueen Explores Beauty & Power

After a three-year absence, Alexander McQueen’s Creative Director, Sarah Burton, returned and brought one of the most diverse casts of the season to Paris. The show was "an exploration of beauty and power through tailoring and tailoring fabrics and a focus on cut, proportion, and silhouette. The foundations of fashion, cut on the body and inspired by the body within," says Burton.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell opened the show wearing a classic black gown with an inverted sweetheart neckline, accessorized with a statement earring. More conceptual pieces followed, such as the silver orchid dress with crystal embroidery.

Valentino Supports Freedom of Expression

Using a tie as a symbol of breaking through conventional gender roles, Valentino "envisions the tie as a powerful tool, imbuing it with aesthetic freedom and redefining its role as part of a prescriptive dress code." The brand's Creative Director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, used a tie in almost every look throughout the collection, creating the hashtag #ValentinoBlackTie on Instagram.

The Italian fashion house also had a throwback moment to the chevron print we all wore in 2013/2014, exhibiting it on a mini skirt.

This season's Paris Fashion Week surely didn't disappoint. Paco Rabanne, Ester Manas, Alexander McQueen, and Valentino all showcased their takes on love, inclusivity, beauty, freedom, and expression in a bold yet subtle way.
