Unique Eyewear Trends for 2024

Eyewear is the latest accessory to dominate the fashion scene. Whether it’s sunglasses, prescription, or non-prescription glasses, everyone is hopping on the trend in more styles than one.

Gen Z style icon Emma Chamberlain is just one it-girl in on the eyewear trend, releasing a collaboration with Warby Parker at the end of last year.

“I have astigmatism, so I have to wear reading glasses. Honestly, I was excited to wear glasses, I’ve always looked at glasses as such an incredible accessory,” Chamberlain told the Warby Parker YouTube channel. “When I was young I was jealous of the kids who had glasses… fast forward to now I got to create a collection with Warby Parker. I wanted to make this collection a reflection of me, and the various styles and aesthetics that I appreciate, and I feel like each pair has a different personality.”

As someone whom many people look to for style inspiration, if the trend is Emma-approved it must be in.

Now let’s take a look at some of the different styles emerging within the eyewear craze.

Bayonetta Glasses

Named after a Japanese video game character who wore the thin frame, trendsetters Bella Hadid, Gabriette Bechtel, and Julia Fox are just a few names that have been seen incorporating this sleek “geek chic” frame style into their day-to-day wardrobes.

Even Mui Mui hopped on the re-emergence of Bayonetta glasses for their Fall 2023 runway, an homage to their 1996 glasses collection.

Colored Lenses

Add a pop of color to any look in a unique way with colored lenses. While it might take a few minutes to get used to seeing the world in one color, we promise the look is worth it.

Some styles have colored frames to match for a monochromatic look, and others have wired or black frames to make the lens stand out. No matter what frames you choose, this style will without a doubt make a statement.

Oversized frames with translucent lenses

Seen on Kylie Jenner and Jihyo of Twice, oversized and novelty styles are a statement. Create a chic and effortless vibe when you add this style to a look for a pop of sophistication while still being fun.

Wired frames

In an accessory-heavy time in fashion, it makes sense we’d want glasses options to match our jewelry!

Whether you are looking for a simple, clean look with the thinnest wire or you want something with a little more shine, eyewear designers are creating options for silver, gold, or mixed metal fans.

Racer Sunglasses

If you’re looking for a cool-girl, sporty vibe, this style is for you. The chunky yet sleek build style is what gives them the name “wrap around glasses.”
