Bucket List for Your Next London Trip

London is a city that if you visit, you will fall so in love with it so much that you’ll want to keep going back. It has so much to offer, from amazing history to delicious foods, there is always something to do. Many people are drawn to this city and rightfully so. Below are some must-do’s on your next trip to London!

Piccadilly circus

Piccadilly Circus is often referred to as the “Times Square'' of London. The Circus connects 5 of London’s most famous streets. It has the British flags hanging over your head with bright advertisements all along your sides. In Piccadilly Circus alone, there is many must do’s like the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, Ripley’s Believe It! Or Not Museum, London Pavillion, and much more!

Fish and chips

While you are in London, you must grab the classic British dish, fish and chips. This was one of my favorite meals I had while in England, eating it three times over the course of the five days. I went to Poppie’s, The Golden Union, and Josef.

Buckingham palace

Visiting the famous Buckingham Palace should be on your bucket list for the city. The beautiful building along with the changing of the guards and the Queen Victoria Memorial across the street is an iconic experience. The changing of the guard takes place daily at 11am from April to July and on alternate days the rest of the year. I would also recommend taking a stroll through The Mall and St James Park after as it is right near here.

big ben

It’s impossible to visit London and not see Big Ben. It’s visible from various parts of the city, some of the best places being on the Westminster Bridge, Parliament Square, and on the Albert Embankment. My favorite spot was near the Sir Winston Churchill Statue in front of one of London’s infamous telephone booths. It is fun to see both at day and night when the whole tower is illuminated.

Bus tour

A bus tour is a must on your next trip to London. This is the easiest way to sight see most of the city without doing much work. You can use the Hop-On Hop-Off buses provided by many different tour businesses like Big Bus, Tootbus, and Golden Tours for around 40 Euros. However, I opted for using the local bus network to take my chances of riding the iconic, red London bus for much less, totaling around 3 Euros.

London eye

One of London’s most popular attractions is the London Eye and it is definitely worth it. It is found on the south bank of the River Thames in front of London’s County Hall Building. It is usually open from around 10am to 8:30pm, but I would verify that for whenever your trip is. The ride lasts for about 30 minutes while offering amazing views of the city. I would recommend purchasing tickets in advance because you will save money and ensure availability.

Boat cruise

Want to see the city of London from the water? Get to experience the Tower of London from below? Perhaps recreate the One Direction’s ‘Midnight Memories’ music video? Then, you must go on a Thames River Boat Cruise. This was one of my favorite things to do while I was on my trip. There are many ways to sail on the river. The City Cruises has three different options alone: the Hop-On Hop-Off cruise, the afternoon tea cruise, and the dinner cruise. There are also many tourist boats as well as Uber Boats. Pre-booking is always suggested and have fun on the ride!

tower of london

This location has been the place of many key events in British history. It is now home to the Crown Jewels and headquarters of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, but it still represents so much of England’s history with it being the spot of executions and defenses. I would recommend booking these tickets in advance as well, costing around 30 pounds, but definitely worth it.

borough market

I am sure you have seen the viral chocolate strawberries all over your TikTok For You page and Borough Market is the place to get them. From the strawberries and the world’s hottest pepper to oysters and all the cheeses you can think of, this market is food heaven. Not only will you definitely find something delicious to eat, but it’s a great time and vibe too. The best time to visit is probably at the opening on Saturdays.

wembley stadium

If you have the time, catching an event at Wembley Stadium is worthwhile. The atmosphere is like nothing I have ever experienced before. It has been around for over 100 years, housing iconic events like the 1985 Live Aid and multiple Olympics. You can feel the energy as soon as you step in the building and you are likely to have an emotional time ahead of you. Whether it’s a concert or a soccer (should I say football?) game, the stadium is worth the visit.
