Trending Halloween Costumes — The Lexington Line

Every year—before October even arrives—we scroll endlessly through Pinterest and TikTok, hunting for the cutest, most unique halloween costume. But this year, forget the vampires, witches, and werewolves. It’s time to think outside the coffin, something niche, something creative, something that’ll make people stop and say, “Omg I love your costume but…what are you supposed to be?” I've always liked the idea of coming up with a costume that nobody would think about wearing but will be memorable.Thankfully we have been saved by the TikTok fashion girls and their unique take on Halloween.

Catwoman is timeless, but Zoe Kravitz’s version in The Batman is my favorite.(sorry, Halle Berry, still love you). The sleek black latex, the curve-waist snatching fit, and a bold red wig? This really gives dark feminine energy especially if you do your makeup in dark eyeliner with a dark cherry lipstick. Or, if you want to go for a lighter look with the pink wig, a black corset paired with a black mini skirt, leather knee high boots and a fur faux coat. Catwoman is an easy outfit to re-create and with so many verions out there you can choose any to make as your own.

Shereen, on Tiktok, gives out the best suggestions for costumes that are authentic. One that really stood out to me was the Ugly Duckling. Yes, it sounds so simple,but she styled it in a whimsical and coquette-aesthetic way. By pairing together a babydoll dress, ballet shoes, swan earrings, and a ribbon or lace choker. The best part is that you can personalize it in your own way by adding feathers, white mascara, white painted fingers, or even fake petals tucked under your eyes. This is a really cute one that would be a nice project to work on.

This is a suggestion from me but this year, I would love to see a group do SuckerPunch costumes. It’s one of those looks where people will definitely stop and ask who you’re dressed as. The outfits revolves around a lot of leather materials, corsets, tights, belts and knee-high heels. The film has various looks that your group could play around with. For Babydoll she has a cute schoolgirl look, while the other group of girls (sweet pea, rocket, blondie and amber) have a military / assassin look preparing for war. It's a way to be and feel feminine empowerment while looking good.

I didn't forget about the men. The show Bridgerton it’s not your normal superheroes or cowboys costume; it's a look that gives old money and dainty vibes—think Ralph Lauren as an example of a more modernized style of inspo. This halloween have fun, be creative, and let your costume be the one people can't stop talking about.
