TikTok Trend Alert: Now Everyone Can Sit Front-Row At Fashion Shows

Receiving an invitation to a fashion show seems impossible—especially if you want a front-row seat. These seats are usually reserved for influencers, celebrities, and other fashion tastemakers and icons. But, that's no longer the case.

Fashion brands have made a huge pivot to cater to quarantined clients and supporters. They started to create virtual runway shows. Virtual runway shows don't have arranged seating, and they are open to anyone.

TikTok's #FrontRowFashion challenge allows for not only fashion lovers, influencers, and bloggers to take part in their shows, but anyone who loves high fashion. They put on their best luxurious item and attended “front-row” at Prada, Gucci, and other luxurious brands’ runway shows from home. Many TikTok users began to ponder for themselves, “What would I wear if I were sitting front-row?”

TikTok users create videos, displaying their version of front-row looks based on different luxury designers. They would ask their followers in the caption, "What would you wear?" The growing use of the hashtag #FrontRowFashion became one of the best challenges on TikTok.

TikTok user @race.dont.matter, hosted by Janina and Bucks, took a special spin on the Front-Row Fashion challenge, as shown in the video above. They started by showcasing what they would wear to a Prada show; Janina wore an all-leather outfit with essential accessories, like black sunglasses and a Prada sequence clutch

Next, they dressed up for Maison Margiela; Bucks is wearing a fully nude, cream-colored outfit, matching the aesthetic to Maison Margiela’s lookbook. Lastly, Janina and Bucks dressed up for Versace; wearing Versace’s signature black and gold print, Bucks garnished his look with Versace loafers. Janina did the same, except she wore Versace knee-high black suede heels. This TikTok couple held the bar very high for others wanting to participate in the challenge.

The couple set a standard to emulate, but other TikTok stars such as @the.navarose surpassed their views and likes. She ended up on Vogue’s article where they discussed the Front-Row Fashion challenge.

The Front-Row Fashion challenge is unique, not only for the killer outfit ensembles, but the song chosen for the videos too. “Gimme More” by Britney Spears is the sound for the trending challenge. The Britney Spears song is a remixed version posted by Alicia Ashanti on TikTok. For this challenge, TikTok users need to find the best outfits to put on and edit the transitions with just sixty seconds or less.

Considering Fashion Week is now largely digital, what looks like just a TikTok trend is now a reality for many. These trends continue to inspire fashion designers to host virtual events. Many have wondered what the fashion designers’ thoughts about the trend #FrontRowFashion challenge. According to Volt Magazine, it has made fashion designers and event planners more optimistic for the future of fashion.

#FrontRowFashion challenge has not just targeted fashion lovers, it has also targeted dog lovers. Italian greyhound @tikatheiggy has had so many amazing pieces she’s loved but couldn’t. She demonstrates her best custom-made outfits in the #FrontRowFashion challenge as if she were to attend Paris fashion week. Tika, the Italian greyhound, starts showcasing her first outfit: an amazing coat made out of crepe fabric and pleated organza. Next up, a feathered dress with a huge bow attached to the side. As Tika describes it, “Ooo la la, exquisite.”

Another entertaining take on the challenge was created by @honeytheiggy, another Italian greyhound fashion influencer. Honey took part in the #FrontRowFashion challenge by showcasing and mimicking outfits already seen on famous models. For Honey’s front-row outfits, she wore Saint Laurent, Gucci, Chanel, and Fendi. These Italian greyhounds are certain to be any fashion-lover's new best friend with their great taste and style.

If Tika and Honey can do it and look exquisite, so can you! TikTok will always give you something to do. Dressed up with nowhere to go? Style it up with your favorite luxurious item and join in the TikTok #FrontRowFashion challenge.
