The Only Itinerary You'll Need This Halloween

You’re young, you’re in the city for Halloween, and you don’t want this to be like all the others.

Ride into Grand Central on Sunday morning to see the Halloween decor and live music. Then, head to Liberty Bagels for a fun Halloween-themed breakfast— an amazing black-and-orange marbled bagel paired with a fluffy pumpkin cream cheese. Next, head to Central Park for some calm scenery as you eat. The leaves are changing in the city, so why not spend it in the city's most beautiful park?

When you're done eating, hit up Abracadabra for a last-minute but unique costume for the weekend. Now, you’ll make your way back to your hotel to rest up before a spooky, delicious evening at Beetle House. Beetle House has a gorgeous ambiance that transports you into a Tim Burton film's underworld. Beetle House has a wide menu with lots of vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. They offer a 4-course menu and an extensive, on-theme drink menu. My personal favorites are the Cheshire Mac & Cheese and The Edward Burger Hands.

Monday morning, you wake up wanting to explore, so you take the train over to Washington Square Park. When you arrive, head to So Good Coffee for a quick caffeine fix and a breakfast sandwich. After you finish enjoying the new autumn foliage, plan to buy tickets to a haunted escape room, like one from BrainXscape.

It wouldn't be a trip to New York without a little shopping, so use Tuesday as your shopping day and hit up all the stores you’ve been dying to do retail therapy at!

Brunch at Chelsea Market on Wednesday really stands out. You get dressed, take the train over, and can already smell the delicious aroma of the different food stands as soon as you get off. Jack’s Wife Freda is the market's best brunch spot. They have an amazing, carefully curated menu that satisfies any craving. I recommend the Prego Roll if you love something savory and filling. After your meal, take a stroll to Flatiron Plaza for the Trick-or-Sweets event, featuring candy giveaways, live music, festive games, and spooky photo ops.

Thursday rolls around quicker than you thought, but time flies when you’re having fun. Today, rest up before the evening, because tonight you’ll go to the Dead Disco at Public Hotel. Wear the costume you bought on Sunday, snap the cutest digital-camera photos, and enjoy a night filled with dancing and friends.

Friday kicks off Halloweekend, and all the parties are calling your name. Masquerade Inferno at LouLou is the perfect place to be. LouLou has a gorgeous interior and is a perfect candlelit, Parisian-inspired hideaway that brings Halloween to life. With fun drinks and awesome music, this spooky kickoff can’t get any better.

Saturday, Halloween day. You sleep in after last night’s festivities and grab another spooky bagel and coffee from Liberty Bagels. You head back to Abracadabra for one more look. This costume will bring you newfound confidence because tonight you’ll head to the Haunting on the Hudson, a terrifyingly fun Halloween boat party.

Sunday night marks the end of Halloweekend and is entirely up to you. If you’re feeling up for it, the last party to go out with a bang is LUNA: Day of the Dead. A frighteningly fun ode to the Latin holiday Día de los Muertos. If not, you’ll head home with a head full of memories and endless fun.

Halloween in the city is all about having fun, and New York City is one of the best places to spend the holiday.
