How to Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally

Very soon, the whole world will be kissing all the time and disco-ing occasionally. What will prompt this change isn’t some planetary retrograde, but a long-anticipated album release.

It has been almost four years since acclaimed musician Harry Styles released his last album, Harry’s House. Back in January, he surprised and delighted fans by announcing via Instagram the arrival of his next album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, coming out March 6th.

From what is known about the album so far, it’s clear that it will be something unexpected. It marks the entrance into a new chapter for Harry Styles, one defined by his creative freedom. The artistry and mastery of music that Styles is known for will still be apparent, but there will be a shift into a wider genre and realm of music that he hasn’t tapped into before.

With this big of an album coming out, you may want to try to soak up the feeling and ride the high of new music from a favorite artist as much as possible. To help you achieve this, I’ve compiled a list of mindsets and actions to take so that you can be as Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally as possible this spring.

1. Embrace a sense of community

This album seems to be all about creating a community through music. The phrase “we belong together,” used by Styles when teasing the album as well as repeatedly in the single “Aperture,” solidifies this mindset. Music is meant to be shared with friends and loved ones, and that rule applies more than ever to Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. So, be sure to share the experience of this music with others and create your own community filled with people who love a good tune.

2. Don’t be afraid to have fun

In a recent interview, Styles said that this album is “music that was meant to be played loud. That is when it feels its best.” If you don’t have a speaker at the ready, make sure to get one for when you press play on this album. Upbeat music projected through a speaker is the perfect recipe to get up and dance. That’s what Styles wants you to do. He wants you to channel your inner disco dancer and free-spirited partier, and immerse yourself in the music.

3. Be spontaneous and find joy in the little things

Now more than ever, it’s important to find little pieces of happiness throughout our lives. If that means sitting down and listening to a song from Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, go for it. Embracing these moments and letting them spontaneously come upon us is something that we absolutely have the right to do. Don’t hesitate to let go of your inhibitions and fall into a world filled with pop and synth-pop music.

By being in New York City, a hub for all things music and media, we have access to first-hand opportunities to experience what the album truly represents. Styles announced a tour along with his new album, and there will be 30 show dates at Madison Square Garden here in NYC. Spanning from August 26th to October 31st, this means there are 30 chances at being able to enjoy amazing music in a stadium filled with just as enthusiastic fans. It was also announced that Styles will be taking on the coveted role that few musicians have the opportunity to do—being both the host and the musical guest of a Saturday Night Live show. The show is slated for March 14th, so there is still plenty of time to gather your friends and make plans to try and get a ticket to a once-in-a-lifetime evening.

Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally is an album that is going to affect the lives of many. Just like Harry’s House a few years before, Style’s new album will impact the music industry for the better. When it’s released, millions of fans will start their own journeys of kissing all the time and disco-ing occasionally. So, when preparing to start your own, don’t forget to create your community, have fun, and be spontaneous. Oh, and make sure to get your disco on!
