For The Polo Bar, try Fedora

The Polo Bar—Ralph Lauren's NYC restaurant—is as timeless as it is exclusive. Equestrian themed, ambient, and stylish, The Polo Bar has proved itself to be one of the most exclusive tables in New York.

An alternative to this American-classic eatery is Fedora. This bistro and cocktail bar is an institution in the West Village, and offers a similar atmosphere to The Polo Bar with its dark color scheme and cozy interior. It’s intimate, candlelit, and subterranean. The reservation process is much easier, often sparing some tables and bar seats for walk-ins.

For The Corner Store, try BRASS

Everyone has heard of The Corner Store. It’s a celebrity hotspot, and it is one of New York's most sought-after reservations. This SoHo restaurant serves classic American cuisine and offers a cozy, chic, and upscale dining experience.

BRASS, located in The Evelyn Hotel, shares a similar atmosphere to The Corner Store, but leaves out the extensive reservation process. BRASS features a romantic Art Deco decoration style, paired with live jazz music. The food leans towards French flavors, classic but with a flair. People are drawn in by the beautiful design, but linger for the delicious menu.

For Carbone, try Bamonte’s

Carbone, the infamous Italian-American staple in Greenwich Village, is known for hosting high-profile celebrities and being one of the most exclusive restaurants in the city. They even require deposits for reservations.

A place with an easier door, yet is just like Carbone, is Bamonte’s. ThisWilliamsburg classic has a timeless old-school and upscale atmosphere, with a famously delicious Italian-American menu. Although it is widely known as a “Carbone Dupe,” this family-run restaurant is the oldest in Williamsburg, serving customers for over 125 years! Be sure to try their coveted Chicken Parmigiana if you visit!
