Moto jackets are an obvious essential for the perfect biker-chic wardrobe. These jackets come in many different styles, from collarless and buckled with heavy hardware, to collared and rustic looking. Like other articles of clothing, these jackets are very versatile and can be dressed up to give a bit of edge to any look, or dressed down with a matching sweatsuit or a casual pair of baggy jeans.

You can find these jackets at your local thrift stores and retailers such as H&M. Designers and brands such as Diesel, Miu Miu, and Christian Dior also debuted moto jackets in their recent collections.

ALL LEATHER EVERYTHING

Leather, or faux leather, is the most important material when it comes to biker fashion. Recently, all-leather outfits have entered the biker fashion chat. From maternity looks to gas station stops, wearing an all-leather look can really bring out the edgier side of your style, and maybe even make you want to take a ride on a motorcycle—but, probably not.

You can find some faux leather pieces from brands such as Princess Polly, I. AM. GIA, and Fashion Nova—to name a few. Designers such as Prada, Bottega Veneta, Christian Dior, and Diesel presented some leather looks in some of their recent collections as well.

Sunglasses, not to be biased, are one of the best accessories out there. They protect you from the sun while making you look like a top-secret spy—with excellent style. Of course, biker/sporty style sunglasses are a must for this trend. Now, these are a big hit at the thrift store, so definitely check out any of your local shops before you hit any other retailers.

If you do not have any luck thrifting, check out retailers such as Giant Vintage, Amazon, and H&M. There really is no specific way to style these glasses, but try pairing them with anything leather, including a moto jacket, and you’ll be ready to ride. For their SS/AW’22 collections, Balenciaga, Telfar, and Givenchy showcased looks with some super cute sporty sunglasses.

MOTORCYCLE/ RIDING GLOVES

This may be the riskiest out of all the pieces, but it is also the most unique, and fun to play around with. Motorcycle/athletic gloves or just short leather gloves are a good accessory to have in your wardrobe, not just for the biker style, but to have when you feel like you might want to get a bit adventurous with your look(s).

These can often be found secondhand—but like most things at the thrift, they can be a hit or a miss. You probably won’t find these at your nearest or favorite fashion brand/retailer, but they do have some on Amazon. Some of the designers that implanted motorcycle/athletic/leather gloves into their SS/AW’22 collections include Christian Dior, Diesel, and Gucci.

It’s all in the name when it comes to biker fashion, being that it is mostly associated with the sport. But, do not let the definition fool you, it can be worn no matter the occasion, whether you're actually going to ride a motorcycle, or simply going to see a movie with some friends. If you are absolutely digging this style, switch out your staple denim jacket for a black leather moto jacket, and your classic aviator sunglasses for a really cool pair of sporty sunglasses/
